What is Endometriosis you ask? Allow me to explain!
Endometriosis is a condition where the tissue that line the womb is found outside of the womb like ovaries or Fallopian tubes. Mainly effects girls and women of childbearing age. It is a long term condition that can have a significant impact on your life.
Symptoms include but are not limited to;
pain in your lower tummy or back, sometimes worse during menstruation.
Period pain that prevents you from doing your normal activities.
Pain during or after sex.
Pain when passing urine or during bowel movement.
Feeling sick, constipation, diarrhoea, or blood in your urine during your period.
Difficulty getting pregnant. Heavy periods.
STAGE 1 - MINIMAL
minimal endometriosis is also called stage 1 endometriosis, and is characterised by isolated implants and no significant adhesions.
STAGE 2 - MILD
Mild endometriosis is characterised by superficial implants that measure less than 5cm in diameter without significant adhesions.
STAGE 3 - MODERATE
Moderate endometriosis involves multiple deep implants, small cysts on one or both ovaries, and the presence of flimsy adhesions.
STAGE 4 - SEVERE
Severe endometriosis consists of multiple deep implants, large cysts on one or both ovaries, and thick adhesions.
